Welcome on my website!

My name is Cécile. I have been teaching yoga since 2005. When I started Yoga I was really Yang liked, and so was my practice. Thanks to Yoga I have started to make peace with my feminine side thanks to meditation and Yin Yoga.

I am certified in Ashtanga Yoga and Prana Flow® (one form of Vinyasa Yoga created by my American teacher Shiva Rea). I am also certified in Yin Yoga (with Bernie Clark and Biff Mithoefer with who I have been working with for some years now) and Restorative Yoga (Relax & Renew with Judith Lasater).

For me Yoga is a path of self-knowledge and finding balance.

I have chosen to enlarge my knowledge studying traditional chinese medecine (TCM) with Michel Odoul, and also learning about the health of fascias with Myofascial Release tehcniques.

Finally my willing to understand what's bring well being leaded me to Vipassana meditation. I have started my first silent retreats in 2008. I was trained to teach meditation and transmit Dharma by my teachers of meditation Patricia and Charles Genoud since 2018. 

 

I am passionate with transmitting a yoga that fits each individual properly, respecting one’s own body and nourishing the soul.

 

I am the first in France to have train teachers in Yin Yoga, and I also wrote the first book in French about it « Yin Yoga, Lâcher-Prise-Méditation-Simplicité » (Ed. First) “. I wrote a second book about Yin and Restorative Yoga in 2021 « Yin & Restauratif Yogas, se détendre et se régénérer en douceur ». (Ed. First).

I offer workshops, retreats and teacher trainings (in Yin Yoga) in France and around the world.

Tao Te Ching - Lao Tzu - chapter 42

The Tao begot one.

One begot two.

Two begot three.

And three begot the ten thousand things.

The ten thousand things carry yin and embrace yang.

They achieve harmony by combining these forces.

To meet the balance of Yang and Yin polarities is also a challenge in our yoga practices. I offer dynamic forms (yang styles) such as Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Dragon Dances, Yoga Trance Dance and Paddle Yoga, and also more meditative forms (yin styles) such as Yin Yoga and Restorative Yoga.

Vinyasa and Ashtanga Yoga (the former being the most dynamic). There are adapted to you if you like to move. We learn to synchronize the breath with the movement, which creates intense heat in order to eliminate the toxins of body and mind. Poses are held on average for 5 breaths.

Gentle yoga : Yin Yoga and Restorative Yoga:

They cultivate the art of slowing down. Yin Yoga aim at strengthening the Yin tissues (joins, tendons, ligaments and fascia), whereas the Restorative practice aim at manipulating the nervous system to get it in its restorative mode (parasympathetic). They combine very well. Those yoga styles can be made complimentarily to the dynamic forms or alone for people who look for quietness and soft introspection in yoga.

Danse du dragon yin yoga

Dragon Dances: Dragon dances are inspired by ancient practices of Qi Gong mixed with dance and vinyasa yoga. They are very dynamic form of practice that help to circulate the energy. They correspond to the Yang part practices in the Yin Yoga style.

Yoga Trance Dance®: Yoga Trance is a practice that starts with some guided yoga movements to connect to our breath and intuition, slowly it evolves to the freedom of dancing. It was created by my vinyasa yoga main teacher, Shiva Rea.

Paddle Yogaor SUP Yoga is the practice of Yoga on the board of SUP. It combines the magic of Yoga with the benefit of being in nature. I teach classes from June to September in Geneva as part of the Yoga Shop Geneva team in Tropical Corner. (http://www.yogashop-geneve.ch/home.php). Vipassana Meditation : there are numeruous kinds of meditation. Vipassana meditation is the one tought by the Bouddha more than 3000 years ago. Its goal is to free ourselves from the suffering created by our own conditionning. As we practice we learn to see deeply the caracteristics of reality and see through the veil of our confusion which is the origin of our pain.
